Reflections

Good Morning. It´s Saturday, July 8th (well here in Europe anyways, it might still be Friday night in the States), and our long-anticipated, exciting, frustrating, tiring, fulfilling adventure has reached the very final stages. We´ve got just a few minutes before we check out of our hotel in Spain and begin the (long hours of) traveling back. So, to conclude the journey that you´ve all been participating with us in over the past few weeks, we thought we´d reflect back on some things that we loved about Europe, somethings we can´t wait to get back to, and some of the events that will be awaiting us in the "real world" over the next few months.

Things That Are Better in Europe:
-Pastries
-Real -not processed and steroid loaded- fruits and vegetables
-The ability to walk to locations
-The amazing ease of train travel
-Architecture and history - buildings and places actually mean something
-The opportunity to watch a multitude of sports - Cycling (Tour de France), Track, and Swimming were on real TV (not ESPN 36 at 2am)
-Crazy soccer bars - These people are real fans
-Real shopping markets - not flea markets full of junk

Things That We Can´t Wait to Get Back to in the States:
-Going to the beach where people keep their clothes on
-Being able to go to a restaurant and only order drinks
-ESPN
-Having other people to talk to who speak our language
-Sound proof walls
-Showers that are larger than 6 inches by 6 inches and have hot water
-No scooters zipping by every second
-Not having to play real live frogger every time you cross the road
-Family and Friends...Of Course
Things Awaiting Us in the Real World:
-Phil and Ashley´s Wedding next week :)
-8th Quarter for Matt...You Palmer folk know what that all means...
-Jen going back to coaching (and being done with that crummy desk job)
-And hopefully, someone to pick us up at the Orlando Airport (3:30 on Sunday) - We love you Judy!

Well, I think that about does it for now. Have a great weekend and check back for new posts from the states in the near future.

Thanks for following our trip and encouraging us with your comments throughout.
We Love You All.
