OK. Here it goes. I would tell you to close your eyes to picture the scene that I am about to depict, however you would not be able to read it, so go ahead and keep them open...
We just stepped off the train from Paris to Barcelona and set our bags down in the most convienent spot until we could figure out how to get to our hotel. As we´re looking at our city map we notice a lady come and stand next to us, both Jenny and I looked up at her but did not think anything of it. (After all, we have this traveling thing down now....we considered ourselves experts. We had always watched our baggage and each other with a close eye.) So we looked back down at our map and again started trying to find our way. The very next moment a man comes up to us and starts yelling at us in Spanish, VERY QUICKLY.
We were startled and were not sure what he was trying to tell us, but I quickly realized what had happened. We were victims of......DIVERSION THEFT (as the officer later put it). Yep, we got jacked. Only one bag, but you guessed it, the only bag that actually meant something and was unreplaceable....the camera bag. 2 digital cameras and Jenny´s dad´s DVD video camera that was probably the coolest electronic device that I´ve ever had the priveledge of using. CRAP!!!! That´s all I have to say, besides i´m soooo sorry Ed.
Anyways, I tried to chase after the guy, which didn´t work well on my broken foot and he was around the corner and gone before i could even muster up a swear word....if i could just get my hands on that punk.
So you´re not getting any pictures for the rest of the trip (in case any of you were still wondering).
But we are perfectly safe (and still have our passports to return to the US), so no worries moms and dads, family, and friends. I´m just gonna start saving for a new DVD video camera now.
So, there´s your visualization opportunity for the day. We are here in Barcelona until Saturday - It´s the last city of the trip (man, we were sooo close to making it through without incident) and then a nice long flight with a 10 hour layover to get back on home soil.
Just an FYI - Despite a really LONG and Sleepless overnight train ride from Nice to Paris, we spent the past three days in Paris and ended up having a great time in a city that Jenny wasn´t even excited to see...Wish we could show you some of our 50 pictures of the Eiffel Tower (Stucky - Jenny had a special picture there that only you would appreciate).
Well, that´s about all the excitment we can handle for one post. If you´re lucky, we´ll squeeze one more in before we hit the air. Can´t wait to see you all soon - we´re looking forward to not having people yell at us in foreign languages.

Jen and Matt:
With great interest, many smiles, and my heart wide open I have read your adventures. We were so sorry to hear of your misadventure with the naughty citizens of Barcelona, but so glad to hear that you are safe. Much love and great happiness for this trip to remember for a lifetime.
